Expected Learning Outcomes

Students (enrolled at the first year of their undergraduate programme in Business Administration) are requested to learn concepts and theoretical frameworks in important issues within the management of firms, as: principles of modern management; meaning of "doing business" within different governance structures, organizational forms, business typologies and competitive contexts; managerial and entrepreneurial capabilities in decision-making. 

The course is taught in Italian language and both oral and written exams are held in Italian

Course Structure

The course is structured as it follows: 

Lectures, Case Analyses, Testimonials in Class. The web (website: www.principidimanagement.it) and the main social media (facebook and telegram) will be used as well to turn the attendance in class in a more participative and immersive experience of learning 

Required Prerequisites

For students enrolled in the graduate program “Economia Aziendale”, prerequisites are not necessary to attend this course.

For students enrolled in different graduate programs, a previous contact with the Instructor is suggested in order to represent the “state of art” of the existing knowledge in economics and in management

Management as Process, as People and as Profession

Activities and roles of the managers: planning, organizing, leading, coordinating and controlling

The functions of management: classical, behavioral and contemporary approaches

The management as decision-making and the interpretative approaches

The Generative Management: the generative approach to firms and doing business

Learning Assessment

Learning Assessment Procedures

The exam is entirely held in Italian. For those students attending regularly the course, the final grade is determined by weighting the partial score of the final exam (written assignment in class) and that of the group projects. For other students, the final grade is determined by evaluating the written exam in class.
