Seminario: "Generating Relations for Choice Correspondences"

Giovedì 11 settembre alle ore 12-13 in aula 6, il Prof. Jean-Paul Doignon, professore emerito presso l’Università Libera di Bruxelles (e visiting presso il nostro dipartimento in questa settimana), svolgerà il seguenti seminari0 dal titolo "Generating Relations for Choice Correspondences"

 

We broaden the scope of revealed preference theory by a novel paradigm for the justification of choice behavior, called generating rationalization.  Our approach explains observed choice by the maximization of a suitable type of ternary relation, which has two subsets of the ground set and an element of the ground set as its three components.  Specific types of generating rationalizations deliver enlightening characterizations of classical axioms of choice consistency.
