A short description of the course
The course aims to train graduates with advanced knowledge of methods and of cultural, scientific, and professional content, aimed at understanding the functioning of modern economic systems and their analysis, and the governance of institutions, companies, and public and private entities. To this end, the master’s degree course provides a solid cultural background and in-depth multidisciplinary methodological knowledge suitable for understanding the most recent developments in economic analysis, both theoretical and empirical, the decision-making processes underlying business strategies, the formation of public policies at various political-administrative levels, and the accounting, managerial, and administrative issues resulting from their implementation.
Two curricula are foreseen, one in Economic Sciences and one addressed towards Public Administration.
Training Purposes
The educational path focused on the study of Economic Sciences aims to create broad, advanced, and updated skills in line with the most recent developments of the discipline and of theoretical and empirical analytical methodologies. The path provides students with all competencies to critically analyse and interpret descriptive and normative models related to the main macro- and micro-economic phenomena, such as: consumption choices, individuals’ savings and investment decisions, strategic interactions among firms, fiscal, monetary, trade and environmental policies, and the issue of sustainable growth.
The path addressed towards Public Administration aims to develop broad, advanced, and updated theoretical and practical skills in the field of economics, business, law, quantitative, and territorial disciplines. The acquired competences are functional to the activity of public administrations, to the forecasting and interpretation of the processes of change and innovation that characterize them, and to the evaluation and management of collective economic, social, environmental, and technological resources.
Employment Opportunities
Professional opportunities include access to both the private and public labour markets. Graduates may obtain managerial positions in companies - particularly those distinguished by innovation and international orientation - as well as in local and national public administrations, governing and research bodies, national and international economic organizations, and universities. The multidisciplinary nature of the educational program fosters the development of professionals marked by versatility and by cultural and methodological integration, qualities that support career opportunities in integrated roles across the different organizational levels of companies and institutions.
