I am currently a PhD student in Economics, Management and Decision Making (EMADE) at the University of Catania, where I focus on electoral behavior and the factors that influence it. My research concentrates on how different dimensions - social media, corruption in national elections, and the effects of public policies at the local level - contribute to shaping voters' decisions and the dynamics of democratic systems. From September 2024 to August 2025, I was a Visiting Researcher at the Center for Research in Experimental Economics and Political Decision-Making (CREED) at the University of Amsterdam (UvA). Previously, I obtained my Master's degree in Economics, Policy and Territory Management at the University of Catania (2018-2020) and participated in the Erasmus+ programme in International Economics and Economic Policy at Goethe Universität in Frankfurt am Main. I have advanced skills in Stata, R, LaTeX and Excel.
My research focuses on electoral behavior and the factors that influence it. I am particularly interested in how different dimensions shape voters' choices and the dynamics of democratic systems: the impact of social media on economic and social decisions, political communication and information quality, how local corruption influences the electorate's vote in national elections, and the effects of public policies and funding transfers, such as the PNRR, at the local level.
