  • Eleonora Cardillo
    Researcher in SECS-P / 07 - Business Administration 

Eleonora Cardillo is Assistant Professor of Financial Accounting and Public Accounting at theEconomicsand Business Department of the University of Catania. She was Visiting Research scholar at the CSEAR (Center for Social and Environmental Accounting Research) School of Management, University of St Andrews, in order to carry out scientific research on the process of reviewing information-accounting systems for social purposes. She was President of the Spin-Off Technical Committee of the University of Catania and she is still a member of the Joint Committee of teachers - students of the Economics and Business Department. The main areas of study and research are the management processes of public organizations and the paths of managerial innovation within these entities, the social reporting systems and performance measurement.

  • Rosario Faraci
    Full Professor in SECS-P/08 –  Business Economics and Management 

Rosario Faraci is Professor of Business Economics and Management at the University of Catania where he teaches Economics and Business Management and Innovation and Business Models. He is President of the Business Economics Course. He is a Delegate of the Rector of the University of Catania for the Technology Transfer, Start Up, and Relationship development with SMEs. He is currently Adjunct Professor at the University of Maryland University College Europe and was Visiting Professor at the University of Florida, as well as Visiting Scholar at Texas A&M University. Graduated with 110/110 cum laude from the University of Catania, he holds a PhD in Business Administration. He won the National Research Council scholarship. He is a friend of the Strategic Management Society Chicago. He is author of monographs, essays and scientific papers both nationally and internationally. He is Co-Editor of the Journal of Management and Governance. His research interests concern entrepreneurship, corporate governance, family business, competitiveness and privatization of public companies, small and medium-sized firms.

  • Maria Margherita Lazzara
    Researcher of IUS/15 – Economics Law

Since 1997 Margherita Lazzara has been a researcher at the Department of Economics and Business, University of Catania. After graduating, cum laude, in Law at Catania University, she was awarded in a Phd in “Business Law” and specialized in “Procedural disciplines”. From 2011 she has been Adjunct professor of “Bankruptcy law and insolvency procedures” on Postgraduate degree course in Business Management in the Faculty of Economics at Catania University. She has been Professor of “Tourism law”, “Protection of rights in civil process”, “Private Law” and she also taught in Master Programmes (Economy and Tourism Management Master, 2005) and Post Graduated School (Forensic science, 1999/2009). She is a member of the International Scientific Committee of the “Italian Journal of Tourism law” and the “Rivista delle procedure concorsuali e delle società commerciali”.

    Associate Professor SECS-P / 08 - Business Economics and Management

Cristina Longo is Associate Professor of Business Economics and Management at the University of Catania (Italy) where she currently teaches “International Business” and “Channel Management” to graduate students in Business Management Course. She holds a laurea degree with 110 summa cum laude and a Ph.D in Business Administration. She won the prestigious “Business Management Scholarship” by IRI Foundation (Rome) and was Visiting Scholar in the Department of Strategy and Management at INSEAD (Paris). She also was Visiting Professor at the University of Economics Prague (CR), at the Université de Montpellier and Montpellier Business School (France).  In 2018 she has spent a research visiting period at Columbia Business School (NYC) and in 2019 she has been Visiting Professor at the University of Southampton (UK). Currently, she is in the Editorial Advisory Board of Management Decision, of the European Journal of Innovation Management and of the European Journal of International Management and ad-hoc reviewer for international leading journals. She is MIUR Referee for Evaluating Scientific National Projects (PRIN).  and has been invited to participate in the Advisory Board of the European project “MSCA-RISE Sensorsoft”, Universitat Rovira i Virgili (URV), Spain. In the past Cristina Longo was Delegate for relations with national and international firms and Delegate for the technology transfer and academic spin-off at the Department of Business and Economics, University of Catania. Her research interests focus on Innovation management & High tech, Technological Standards & Competition, Regulatory Standard & Coopetitive Alliances, Innovative Start-Ups & Incubator; Communities of practices and & Hub-and-Spoke Model for Innovation; Knowledge Management & Dynamic Capabilities, Export strategy, “Made in” Sustainability and Quality Standard for Products Protection, Channel Design & Retail Management, Sustainable Entrepreneurship and Local Development. 

  • Sebastiano Mazzù
    Associate Professor in SECS-P/11 - Financial Markets and Institutions

Sebastiano Mazzù is Associate Professor at the University of Catania in 2010, where he teaches Economics and Banking Management and Corporate and Investment Banking. He obtained a Ph.D. in “Business Administration and Management” at the University of Catania in 2003. He was researcher at the University of Messina from 2005 to 2010. His research topics are mainly focused on Management of Financial Institutions, Risk Management in Financial Institutions and Finance and Innovation. He is author of  books and articles published in national and international journal, focused on the issues of financial intermediation, finance and innovation. He participated as a speaker at numerous national and international conferences. He is member of the Association of Teachers Financial Intermediaries and numerous Editorial Board.

  • Filippo D’Amico
    ANDAF Sicily President  – National Association of Administrative and Financial Directors, Section Sicily

Graduated in Economics, Filippo D’Amico is an auditor specialized in Business Management. After gaining his experience in local companies, Filippo D’Amico was a manager for many years in a pharmaceutical company in Catania, leader in the ophthalmic sector. He held various positions in local companies, as manager and auditor, including in the Corporate Governance area. He has gained significant experience in implementing and managing corporate information systems (E.R.P), dealing, in particular, with organizational issues, Management Control and Corporate Finance. Currently Filippo D'Amico is a shareholder and manager of CentoCinquanta srl, a management consulting company. Here he deals with management consulting, with particular reference to strategic planning, management control, finance, organization and automation of administrative processes and implementation of integrated information systems. Since 2011 he has been the Regional President of the National Association of Administrative and Financial Directors – ANDAF Sicily; it is a non-profit association which promote experiences and information exchange between the Administration, Finance, Management Control and Planning and Internal Auditing managers of Italian firms. It also contributes to training and professional growth of its members and to present experience and requests of its members to Institutions. Since 2017 he has been President of the Study Commission - Business Area - Management Consulting at the Associaton of Chartered Accountants and Accounting Experts of Catania.

  • Francesco Messina
    CEO Centocinquanta srl Catania 

Graduated in Economics at the University of Catania, Francesco Messina began his career at the Administration of the Council of Ministers in the sector of local development under the guidance of Professor Luca Meldolesi. After working there for two years, in 2005 he took on a PhD course in Public Finances, completed it in 2008, earned a Master's Degree in Economics of Arts in Louvain-la-Neuve in Belgium in 2006, and in July 2007 obtained the qualification of a chartered accountant. As early as in 2003, he established CentoCinquanta, a consulting institution in order to exchange know-hows and contacts and create and offer consultancy products for businesses and government bodies. More inclined to the business issues and those related to performance improvement, he is personally involved in training entrepreneurs in leadership, change management and generational handover, team-building in companies, managing and motivating sales networks. Messina takes advantage of his skills in Management Control to understand which objectives to assign to managers and sales networks, and Marketing skills to help companies improve relationship between their employees and customers and suppliers. In 2018 he was entrusted to head the department of Economics of Strategy in the Global World at the Faculty of Political and Social Sciences. He is also the author of articles in specialized magazines.

REQUIREMENTS
  • 1st Level University Degree (Bachelor’s degree);
  • 2nd Level University Degree (Master’s degree or a single-cycle degree);
  • Equivalent studies and degrees, preferably in Economics, Law or Socio-Political Studies, foreign degrees as well;
  • Italian and English Understanding.
